This is a VMS version of SWISH-E 2.2.1, released 04-OCT-2002

As such it may be buggy and/or incomplete, etc.  Advantages of early
participation in a port to VMS include getting it there at all!!  SWISH-E
appears to be a competant and VERY FAST (both to index and to search) document
indexing system.

This package includes SWISHesi (pronounced SWISH-easy), a simple, effective CGI
interface to a SWISH-E index.  SWISHesi should support the VMS HTTP servers
WASD, OSU (DECthreads), CSWS 1.2 (Apache), Purveyor and possibly others.  A
basic but functional configuration and indexing procedure is provided in the
[.SWISHESI] directory.  These may be used as examples/templates.


BUILDING
--------
SWISH-E requires MMS/MMK, DECC v6.n, VMS 7.n
Known problems compiling with DECC 5.n/VMS6.n!

The BUILD.COM procedure initiates full compile+link.
The LINK.COM initiates a link-only build.
